Fellow students, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all final year students upon completion of their academic stay on campus, indeed; God never promised us of a smooth journey but His mercies and grace have seen us through. Thus far, over the years the bulk phenomenon and the bureaucratic nature of filling clearance forms is one that has brought the problem to many after school. Students have to travel far and near to come to campus just to complete their clearance form moving from one office to another if they were not able to complete it during their stay on campus.
There was the need for an intervention, The 2019/2020 SRC executives spearheaded by The President H.E Safo Kantanka Obed has been in a constant constructive dialogue with the ICT directorate on how better they can improve or work on the bureaucratic nature of clearance form. There was a need to employ digitalization to this effect. The aim is to improve the efficiency of the clearance process, consistency, and to save time. Integrating conventional records into a digitised system eliminates redundancies and shortens the communications chain. This also, to improve accessibility and facilitate better information exchange between offices and student during their season of clearance. Fellow students, moving from one office to the other is tedious and the inconsistencies of some of the offices are irritating sometimes.
The Director of the ICT Directorate assured us that this initiative will take effect from next year i.e. 2020/2021 academic year. Management is also in full support of this initiative. Life can only get better if we make prime use of the technologies we have and with the understanding that the world is growing and fast revolving, every second count. It is our responsibility to protect the interest of our people.
Signed
H .E Safo Kantanka Obed
