This is to inform students of the Polytechnic and the polytechnic community that in response to the recommendation of the 2013/2014 SRC AUDIT REPORT and as required by law (according to Article 7, Section vi), the President of SRC, his Excellency Tigawuti Wedaga Michael, has approved the appointment of a Seven member ad hoc committee to implement the recommendations of the 2013/2014 SRC Audit Report. This appointment has been made necessary to fast track the resolution of the General Assembly, which in her last seating of Sunday 14th September, 2014, directed the executive arm of the council to exercise her constitutional mandate as contained in Article 7, section vi, to appoint an ad hoc committee to implement the Audit report.
This committee is charged with the following responsibilities:
- That they conduct an open seating within the polytechnic and summon all students (Executives and Non executives) who served in the 2013/2014 SRC council.
- They should fully implement the recommendations of the 2013/2014 AUDITORS REPORT
- They are mandated to conduct a forensic audit on all receipts that may be brought to the committee as evidence that the said moneys as contained in the audit report were spent judiciously before receiving of such document
- They should also receive on behalf of the SRC all moneys to be refunded by auditee’s and make the payment of such moneys back to the councils bank account with the National Investment Bank here in Koforidua and serve the 2014/2015 financial committee with the tellers of such payments
- To recommend legal actions to be taken against those who may refuse to comply with the committee
- They are expected to turn in their report to the executive council through the 2014/2015 Vice President of the SRC, on or before 28th September, 2014.
- They are to make copies of their report available to the following:
- The Rector through the Dean of Students
- The Registrar of the polytechnic
- The F.O. of the polytechnic
- Students records of the polytechnic
- The General Assembly through the Speaker
- The Chief Justice of the SRC
- A selected national daily within Ghana
- The polytechnic website
- The SRC website
- The school notice boards
- They are expected to seat for ten (10) days, including Saturdays and Sundays; starting from Friday 19th September, 2014.
- Their seating should be made public to allow for members of the polytechnic (students) to equally attend the seating’s to observe proceedings.
- There should be a video/audio recording of all your seating’s and proceedings for record purpose.
As a result of the security nature of their duty, the names of the members, their secretary and chairman shall not be made public until the commencement of the exercise.
